The National Alliance for Fair Contracting (NAFC) is hosting its 20th Annual Conference back-to-back with the Center for Contract Compliance (CCC) Underground Economy Conference. The conferences will be held at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel in San Diego, California, on August 19-22, 2018.

NAFC’s portion of the conference focuses on public works topics from around the country and will be a great opportunity for California attendees to learn about the laws and regulations affecting public works construction in other states. You will have plenty of time to network with labor compliance professionals from outside California during breakfast and lunch, or reception, and may come up with new ideas how to improve labor compliance in California.

NAFC is a national non-profit organization that consists of Labor Compliance Programs, Building Trades, Unions, and other labor compliance driven organizations from across the country.

The CCC’s portion of the conference is free to attend and focuses on California topics, which will be helpful to those around the country, but particularly helpful for California public agencies, contractors, and labor compliance organizations. Presenters will include representatives from various State enforcement agencies and attorneys that concentrate on California public works. The conference will include workshops designed to help public agencies comply with various requirements related to public works construction, including advertising, bidding, and responding to public records requests. In addition, there will be workshops discussing the laws and regulations related to prevailing wage, apprenticeship, meal and rest periods, travel and subsistence, and more. A final agenda will be provided soon.

There is a registration fee of $225 if you wish to attend NAFC’s portion of the conference on August 19th and 20th, which includes breakfast on August 20th and 21st, a plated lunch on August 20th, and reception.

There is no registration fee if you wish to attend CCC’s portion of the conference on August 21st and 22nd.  Please contact the Center for Contract Compliance if there are any questions at (626) 444-8355.

Please register for one or both conferences by indicating “yes” in the appropriate spot on the bottom of the registration form and send the form to NAFC. Remember, if you want to attend the NAFC portion of the conference, you must send NAFC the required registration fee.
